The Mane Event Review

I am a Shelly Laurenston fan from her early Ellora's Cave days--a publisher she refers to as that publisher that shall not be named.
I get her Newsletter, wish she was more social, but what can you expect from a writer who creates heroines who bash men in the head with the lids of toilets, buries old murderous women in holes, and understands the femoral artery and its pleasures.
I adore the Pride series. I have reread all of the books in the Pride Series and The Magnus Pack no less than a dozen times. I am okay though that Bite Me (The Pride Series) may be her last book in this series( Honey Badger Shifter squeal) because I know she has the chops to create another great world.
But I do get that some people don't like her and think all her books are frat parties...
So, sad for you! These bring me sunshine.
So, here is my review for my reread of The Mane Attraction first book in the The Pride Series.
As an overview, these books are always funnier and more erotic than I ever recall. How could I forget the role playing in Shaw's Tail or the excellent orality of A Christmas Pride. None the less, they are also sweet as the heroes are gobsmacked by the heroines. Great fun.
Christmas Pride
Oh, I have no idea how many times I have reread this. I love it. I forget what a great holiday story this is. All the bickering cracks me up. You can't beat it for a childhood friends to lovers story. I adore the lack of coyness and the fact that he wants to "wear her like a hat."
I love this lion shifter who know what he wants and goes after it. I love Dez. She is just awesome.
That is all.
Shaw's Tail
A no holds bar sexy romp as a lion shifter goes after a wolf shifter female with is whole heart. The role playing sexy times are off the hook and these characters are so much fun.
It sets up a whole wonderful world.
